Youth Pilgrimage — General Information

Date and Time of Event: The Youth Pilgrimage begins Thursday, January 18, 2008, at 5 p.m. in St. Peter Church (2706 Leavenworth St., Omaha NE 68105) and concludes Tuesday, January 23, 2008, at approximately 4 p.m.
Eligible Ages: Young people in high school or equivalent grades.
Cost: $350 for each youth or adult chaperone.
- Cost includes ground transportation by bus; hotel accommodations (four to a room) for one night in Gettysburg, PA, and two nights in Alexandria, VA; museum fees; most meals; and a commemorative souvenir.

Cancellations: You may receive a full refund if you cancel by or on November 12, 2007. If you cancel after November 12, 2007, your payment cannot be refunded; however, your payment may be transferred by you to another youth of your designation.
Registration Deadline: All registration forms and complete payments are due by or on November 12, 2007. Young people should register through their pastors, parish youth ministers, high school chaplains or campus ministers.
Chaperones: One chaperone should be provided for every seven youths. Chaperones must be 21 or older and have completed Safe Environment Training through the Archdiocese of Omaha or an equivalent program (questions about Safe Environment Training should be directed to Fr. Cook at 341-4560, ext. 104)
- If the majority of a group is male, then the group must provide a male chaperone.
- If an individual parish or school cannot attend as a group or provide a chaperone, individual parents may serve as chaperones, but should consider contacting nearby parishes or school groups first.
Food: Most meals will be provided (please see the itinerary for more information); however, each participant is asked to bring some food to share (e.g., cookies, chips).
Housing: Boys and girls will sleep according to gender, four to a hotel room. Each young person should designate on his/her registration entry one bunkmate with whom he/she is comfortable. Adults will be housed according to gender, two to a room.
Attire: All participants should bring comfortable shoes, sleeping attire, change of clothes, hygienic necessities and warm, versatile outerwear in case of inclement weather.
Preparatory Meetings:
- Meeting for all chaperones: Sunday, December 2, from 2-3:30 p.m. in McMahon Hall of St. Peter Church (723 S. 27th St., Omaha, NE 68105). Chaperones should call Fr. Cook ahead of time if unable to come.
- Meeting for all participants and chaperones: Sunday, December 16, 2-3:30 p.m. in McMahon Hall of St. Peter Church (723 S. 27th St., Omaha, NE 68105). In case the meeting on December 16 is canceled due to inclement weather, please mark January 13 as a snow date make-up meeting.
